I currently own a 5500 and a 5600 and am just about to purchase a new CL3000 so unfortunately I can't support three Zaurii and the 5600 has to go.

The 5600 was purchased and imported brand new a year ago from the US (they were never sold inside Europe).

The condition of the unit is excellent, having only really been used via ssh from a desktop PC. (I use the 5500 day-to-day).

The screen is in immaculate condition and still has the original plastic screen protector cover attached with the original protective film not removed. I will also throw in a brand new, not opened Brando ultra clear screen protector.

As well as the unit, this sale also includes: A retractable USB charger/sync cable, a RoadWired POD carry bag (really excellent bag!) and the CF digital camera card accessory.

The unit will be shipped in it's original box and packaging to the UK and Europe (at the buyers expense). I am looking for around GBP 250 for the entire package (excluding shipping) and this is a substantial saving over what it cost me to import it. These are now becoming increasingly difficult to get hold of in Europe so don't miss this opportunity to get a really excellent unit.

Contact me via PM on this forum or via email: jmartin at infusco dot net.

I will be offering this to OE forum members for one week before I list it on Ebay, I would rather it go to a good home.

Please note: I have the images in all their full 5 mega pixel glory. If you want them then contact me.

This thread is not expecting an answer so don't feel obliged to answer it. But I don't have enough information about this to report it as a bug so here it is.

OZ 3.5.1 - GPE image. - 5600

After installation of arbitrary programs (gpe-nmf and minimo for me, although could be others). A successful login switches to a black screen with X shaped pointer, then imediately switches back to login screen.

This happens with both root and normal users logging in.

Format/Reboot/Reset does not change this behaviour. Had to reflash.
If you do manage to replicate this, and you have access to the system via a shell then please check users /home/user/.xsession-errors files and report a bug to gpe.handhelds.org.

Hello to all the Z-UK users.

I'm James, I'm based near Reading (Hampshire).

I've been a long time Linux user, so I want to try something based on *nix but I've never owned a PDA, because of my dread fear of PPC and WinCE. After reading such good things about the Sharp Zaurus' (what is the plural? - Zaurii?) and speaking to other PDA and Linux users I've decided to join the club, so to speak.

The C-Series look great but I'm not going to break the bank until I know that I'll get on with these devices. The compromise at the moment is to take the plunge and import an SL-5600 to the UK from the US.

Does anyone have any experience of reputable importers? So far I've contacted shirtpocket.co.uk and am awaiting a response. Otherwise I've found several US ebay sellers who are willing to ship a new boxed 5600 for around £220 (plus shipping and tax).

Looking forward to much future Zaurus hacking (once I've got my hands on one) wink.gif
