Can ffmpeg used in zaurus earily than CXX00? There are many SL-7500C in China. 7500C can not support bvdd.

SL-7500C is c750 with other keymap (for those who do not know). I suggest installing Ångström as it has X11 server with XVideo/XRandR support so for playing videos is is best Zaurus model.

http://blog.haerwu.biz/2006/08/09/sharp-zaurus-jtag-cable/ is schematics of official Sharp Zaurus JTAG cable. It is from SL-5500 service manual and require Win32 JTAG tool.

And I can not get it how you were able to brick sl-cxx00 device... From what I know only collie (5000/5500) can be bricked - rest of Zaurus devices warrant entry to diagnostics where nand restore is available.

You need kernel 2.6.21 or newer iirc to have SDHC working. I do not remember which version pdaX use (it was 2.6.16 with r121).

Dell D400 - 12" screen, no CDROM/DVD drive at all, Pentium Mobile cpu

I use it as 32bit build machine for Poky/Ångström and sometimes when I travel.

I hope it works OK for you! How is the battery life? And the heat?

During long builds CPU goes to 70°C even so the airflow is quite hot. I use cpufreq 'ondemand' on it so it automatically lower cpu speed when not too much to do.

Battery gives me 40 minutes. New one is on a way to me.

Ångström should be able to use SDHC cards on Zaurus models.

speculatrix: and this will rather never happen.

Wlan-ng driver is written in so ugly style that it will never get into mainline kernel, prism2 on usb is something which is not available on market and probably most of it's users moved to other solutions when wanted WPA (as bonus they got 802.11g chipsets).

JackA: there is a chance as always. Someone has to start work on collie support - thats all. Many developers have collie but also other devices so nothing strange that this old PDA is more and more dust covered.

Current status of collie is: 2.6.21 kernel works, SD/MMC works, no one works on getting it working in nice way. Guy who wrote SD/MMC support had problem with is desktop machine (mainboard breakage) and I do not know what is status of it.

For Zaurus charging you can use:

- Sharp Zaurus charger
- Compaq/HP Ipaq chargers (h3600/3800/3900/5400/5500 atleast)
- USB Hub chargers (not every - need to check each time) - I charge my Hub with Zaurus charger
- PSP chargers

To run Poky in qemu you need recent CVS or qemu binary from OpenedHand. It is written on Poky Linux website.

Oh yeah, I forgot you guys were gods and did everything right.

Atleast we got 2.6 kernel working on all Zaurus models ;D

QUOTE(T3_slider @ Jul 5 2007, 04:20 AM)
Everyone should just RELAX -- if the pdaXrom devs want to do their own thing, let them -- it is after all their distribution to develop. Although merging pdaXrom and Angstrom would help in some respects, it would also prevent innovation from competing teams -- which is a good thing in my opinion. Also, the two distributions are completely different -- if they merge both sides (or at least one side, and I can tell who that would be) would lose out on some existing functionality (like being able to use a real web browser...but I won't go there).
*

I am not talking about distributions merge but kernel work merge. For me pdaX distribution can live like it is now and I think that it will evolve and works. Do some stuff from it go to OE based distros (and vice versa) does not matter too much for me. But I do prefer to have more cooperation work when it comes to kernel stuff. For example during 2.6.22 development PXA suspend/resume got broken - finding why took many hours but finally Richard came with fix. I would like to avoid situations when pdaX kernel team will invent same stuff as OE Zaurus kernel team (and vice versa) in same time.

QUOTE(T3_slider @ Jul 5 2007, 04:20 AM)
Why is it that Angstrom/OZ people ALWAYS seem to want to conquer the Z market? The way I see it, the more options the better. It would be nice to allow sharing of code liberally throughout in both directions to avoid reinventing the wheel, but past that, it's not worth discussing unless both sides are clearly interested.
*

For apps/distro work I do not need pdaX/Angstrom/OZ/etc merging. But for kernel I want to have cooperation as we spent too much time to get it working.

louigi600: does it really have to look like "we, pdaX team, will get recent work done by OE Zaurus kernel hackers, add own hacks/patches and ignore the fact that we can cooperate" again?

Think about cooperation from beginning - otherwise you will get back one day just to see that we already done some of your fixes and that your new code need to be cleaned up, split into separate patches and updated to our code.
