I'm considering spinning up this distro again as a side project. How many folks are still active in the Zaurus community? Late I am still around! I have a SL-C1000 with Cacko, and I would love to try something else. Alas, I cannot find pdaxrom anywhere! Any pointers are appreciated... Pedro |

Hi Pedro, you can find all the pdaXrom releases and feeds inside InSearchOf's repository: http://distro.ibiblio.org/pdaxrom/download/ Note that the beta1/3/4 releases are based on kernel 2.4, the later r121/197/198 ones on 2.6. Actually, Beta 4 has the 2.6 kernel as well. If you are interested in a bug fixed stable version of pdaXROM with a 2.4 kernel; I would recommend pdaxii13. You can find it here.

What are the odds of my checking back in?
I still have mine, but I haven't used it in some time. |

I still have various Zaurus SL-C3000, SL-C1000, SL-C860 and an SL-C5600.
I tried all the distros and found pdaXrom was the best of the lot except that it didn't suspend power - unless I was doing something wrong*. It would run through the battery very quickly! If this one thing was fixed I would use it again. At the moment I'm experimenting with Arch Linux. *I have since found that 'apm --suspend' seems to do the job, using r121 build on my SL-C860. |

If this one thing was fixed I would use it again. On pdaXII I usually triggered the suspend via the menu, and resumed using the Home key, and AFAIR never had any problems, though other people have reported it to be flakey: https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=25653 https://www.oesf.org/forum/index.php?showtopic=26093 Have you tried weeXpc? I have not installed it yet, it should be a more polished version of pdaXrom, and its still available for download (I have recently been in touch with its author): https://hermocom.com/archive/20-weexpc Varti |
