Just got a CODI update from V1.1.1.11 to V1.1.1.12. To get the update start the Cover Display Assistant app and press "check for updates". It took two attempts to flash the update. So if it fails, just retry. The flashing takes quite long (the app tells it might be about 20 minutes), so it might be better not to start with a nearly empty battery. For me the battery charge went down from 87% to 82% while flashing. For me the CODI feels snappier and I hope for better standby time. But maybe my perception is wrong.

Using the camera preview on the CODI still is slow, maybe a two seconds lag.

Hi,
I am mentally preparing for the Cosmo. I don't want to use Android on a phone for privacy reasons (using Debian on the Gemini, but that is not really an option for using the device as a phone), so Sailfish might be the best option. With this a few questions regarding Sailfish have arisen:

There might only be a community edition available initially. Is it possible upgrade to official without having to reflash?
Is it possible to update Sailfish without having to reflash?
What about X11 compatibility, is this possible somehow?
Hardware support (USB devices) and filesystem support is some kind restricted with the Android kernel. Has anyone tried the modular kernel with Sailfish?

Thx+regards

Today, just out of interest I had a look at the kernel cmdline and noticed we are are restricted to 5 cpus:

root@gemini:/home/gemini# cat /proc/cmdline
console=tty0 console=ttyMT0,921600n1 root=/dev/ram vmalloc=496M slub_max_order=0 slub_debug=OFZPU androidboot.hardware=mt6797 maxcpus=5 androidboot.verifiedbootstate=green bootopt=64S3,32N2,64N2 log_buf_len=4M printk.disable_uart=1 bootprof.pl_t=1127 bootprof.lk_t=2950 boot_reason=4 androidboot.serialno=TGRWNRQ8ORQKC6TK androidboot.bootreason=wdt_by_pass_pwk gpt=1 usb2jtag_mode=0

To prove this I tried while running sysbench ( sysbench --test=threads --num-threads=99 run ) to see the count of enabled cpus:
root@gemini:/home/gemini# cat /proc/cpuinfo |grep proc|wc -l
5

The count of active cpus never went above 5 (as expected). Does anybody know the reason for this restriction? Has anybody already tried to increase this number, maybe to 10? Do we all have this restriction(might be a problem with my setup, but don't think so)? Where could this be changed (it is not part of the mkbootimg call)?

I have just tried to connect a Bluetooth headset and failed. Has anybody successfully tried?

Pairing has been successful and when turned on bluetoothctl says the headset is connected, but by no way I could get pulseaudio to playback on the device.

Does anybody know the pinout and type of the camera connector? Just thinking about connecting a NFC reader/writer to it instead of the outer camera... Anyways, the metal cover might prevent this. Still, this might be interesting for other upgrades.
