Before people complain, yes, I do know that there is a section for this.
Why don't we make a thread for people to post stuff they want compiled, kind of a reverse "New Packages Announced" thread? It might make people who wouldn't normally ask for apps to not have to start a new thread asking about it and feel more comfortable asking. It may also broaden the range of apps that are available for pdaXrom. Any thoughts, criticism, etc.? |

Capn_Fish, it sounds like you're volunteering to do some compiling - good on you!

QUOTE(karlto @ Nov 2 2006, 08:24 PM) I am, more or less. I like compiling stuff, but I really don't know what people want. I think that if we make a thread for people to post wants in, it will give people like me ideas on what to compile. Also, it will provide a way to make popular or useful apps available for pdaXrom. |

Could you compile a working IMage BUilder binary that will run in the pdaX86 enviroment? I get erros from Qmake when I try to compile, but I never have done it before. see this thread
the download for the Image BUilder source can be found here : iMAGE buILDER 0.0.2 and instructions from the original release are Here: https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=16351 I found this Qtopia manual ... and have tried some help on IRC ... but I can't make it happy. . . If you could compile this for x86 that would be Astounding! ![]() |

Unfortuately, I have never compiled for pdaX86. The only disc I tried wouldn't boot, and I never tried another one. I could try for a Zaurus app, if you would like.

The problem I encountered with when compiling gnome-python (and other gnome-xyz or xyz-gnome) is that the current gnome libraries for pdaX are very very old.
So what needs to be (re)compiled first is a whole series of new gnome stuff. ![]() |

Is that a hint?
Anyway, I'm thinking of not compiling libraries until I get my new Z as they seem to be large to install. By the way, I was thinking that this would be a general place for people to ask for apps, not just a place to ask me for stuff. I was thinking that people, like me, who want to help out by compiling stuff could get ideas here. In short, if you want to compile something listed here, go ahead. The sooner stuff gets compiled the better! |

Hi,
As I`ve written earlier I really miss enigmail for thunderbird. Source: http://enigmail.mozdev.org/ I`ve compiled some programs for pdaXrom, but Mozilla packages are hard to compile with cross compiler. So I`m really glad for any help. Thanks, Tamas |
