Edit : In starting  ompi  from the terminal, I get this message
"error while loading shared libraries: libssl.so.0.9.7: cannot load shared object file: No such file or directory"
The error message tells you what's wrong: you are missing an SSL library.
You can get the openssl on the ZUG feed:
http://www.zaurususergroup.org/feed/

After you install it, it should start up just fine.
You have Cacko 1.22 on the C750, right?

Kde-pim/pi 1.9.14 Release
« Reply #31 on: January 11, 2005, 04:06:13 pm »
Hi,

a new release 1.9.16 is available:

Info about the changes in new versions of KDE-Pim/Pi

********** VERSION 1.9.16 ************

KO/Pi:
Fixed search dialog size on Z 6000 (480x640 display).
Added setting to hide/show time in agenda items.
Added setting to hide not running todos in todo view.
Added columns for start date/time in todo view.
Replaced the solid half-hour lines in agenda view by dot lines.
Added possibility of printing the What's Next View on the desktop
(i.e. Windows and Linux).
Fixed a crash in KO/Pi when starting KO/Pi with What's Next view.
Added tooltips in month view.(Tooltips only available on desktop)

Fixed a strange problem in KO/Pi alarm applet.
Did not find the actual problem,
such that now Qtopia reboots again if deinstalling the alarm applet.
But the alarm applet should work again.

KA/Pi:
Fixed the problem, that internal pictures were not saved.

Fixed a problem in the pi-sync mode by increasing the timeout for data transfer from 20 seconds to 5 minutes.

Fixed some minor problems. (Like word wrap in help text windows).

Fixed a compiling problem in microkde/kresources.

KO/Pi is using zdbat (renamed to db2file) for syncing with Sharp DTM.
This version now includes zdbat 1.0.0 (old version was zdbat 0.2.9)
such that now syncing KO/Pi with Sharp DTM should work on the
Zaurus C 3000 model.

Kde-pim/pi 1.9.14 Release

The /pi suite marches on... zautrix remains very busy!

I've been trying out OM/pi lately and am very impressed with the features, but the stability has been a bit of a problem for me, with a few random crashes and some quirky behaviors.  Since i'm using IMAP it's not too big of a concern (i'm not likely to lose any mails), but i was wondering if you consider the address and calendar and todo /pi replacements to be at a stable release state.  The reliability of keeping my four years worth of PIM data is kind of high priority for me!

I'm definitely ready to ditch the default PIM apps.  The other question i have after monitoring the progress of /pi, is where does syncing come in now.  I.e. how is it accomplished, and with what programs.  I believe it requires an export to dtm on the z, followed by a sync using the inbuilt sync mechanism, followed by an update on the z /pi side to get the data back from dtm.  Is that correct?

Thanks for your help.

Hurray for Zautrix. Will report bugs as I find them. Can't say I use anything else than Kopi very intensively, so most of my finds will probably stay there.
in .15, the contact-pick screen in O/mail didn't rotate for portrait mode, which might aggravate sl-6000 users

It would be great, if you could give me some more infos about the crashes, but because they are random, it would be difficult, of course...

Yes  address and calendar should be stable.
But you need to make a backup from time to time, because your whole device may crash, of course. It is never a good idea to have the pim data on only one device.

Yes, but to be precice: You have to make a sync.

Yes, then you have synced with Outlook.
But you can sync with KDE or with KO/Pi on Windows as well.
I will try to implement a KO/Pi on Windows <-> Outlook sync this year such that KO/Pi on the Z can be synced with Outlook via KO/Pi on Windows.

If we have the KO/Pi on Windows <-> Outlook sync
we would have a KDE <-> Outlook  via KO/Pi on Windows and KO/Pi on Linux, which would be a really cool feature.

Thanks for the answers.  The crashes in the mail client were mostly when i was trying to set things up, but i think pushing "reply" while displaying the text of an attachment frequently crashes.  I wonder why it is that embedded messages don't show up.  They work fine in kmail and most other mail clients i try.  As a mailing list moderator i constantly read attachments, and that's why i have so much experienxe crashing it from the attachment display....

I actually don't use Outlook at all.  Until recently my PIM has been my PalmOS device, but now i want to use my Z, but  need to have access on the computer sometimes.  So if i install PIM/pi on my linux box (or use Kontact/Korganizer) as well as the z, is there a way to sync them directly without the in-between steps?

Also, is there a way to import or combine one dtm data file into another?  I managed to import my Palm data into Qtopia for Windows, and would like to take those data files and merge the data into the existing pim data on my z, but i can't get it to sync with windows at all.

Me too! ;-)
That bug I want to fix before the 2.0.0 release.
But I have currently no idea how difficult it will be.

Yes.
If you install PIM/pi on your Linux box, you can sync the Z directly with the PIM/pi apps on Linux. And you can sync it with the KDE-Pim data using the PIM/pi apps.
Please read the sync HowTos in the KO/Pi help menu.

The new DTM does not sync with Qtopia for Windows, only with Outlook.

Maybe you can export your Palm data as *.vcs ( appointments) and *.vcf (addresses).
This could be imported into KO/Pi - KA/Pi.

Flandry, could you repost in the new thread please? I wanted to close this one earlier but couldn't get in touch with Zautrix. If you could just copy your post, that'd be great.
I'm closing this thread now, please use the new one (it's pinned so you can't miss it)
