function f1, f2 etc... keys under x11
« on: January 09, 2004, 02:13:03 am »
Under x11 (not in a console), is there a \"standard\" way defined to
simulate this keys?

fn + 1 to simulate F1 seems obvious but  I\'ve seen that foxdie
is willing to use the function + number key to change the brightness.

The reason I ask this is that i can easilly make a patch (or a macro, I\'m not sure yet) for microemacs to simulate these function keys, but I don\'t want
to introduce a new way to input these keys.

Well actually I\'ve found a way around it. I am still working on my scripts (which includes a brand new xmodmap).

So far I\'ve got it planned out that fn+shift+Q to P will be F1 to F10, and fn+shift+A and S will be F11 and F12.

Sashz says in the next ROM release that he\'ll remove the change he made so that fn+1 to 0 will be bindable again and he\'ll include my script to use fn+3,4 to change the LCD brightness.

Foxdie,
Is there a \"Technology Preview\" of your shiny scripts? Many people could help you to finish it.
