ok, I am downloading 3.13 right now ...  ...

btw, how is this "#2 SL5500 w/Hentges OZ 3.5.3 Opie 40-24" setup working for you? I tried OZ 3.5.3 and also QTopia ROM (from qtopia site) and both had issues with resuming. The touchscreen just remained in slumber land.

Thoughts?

The cancel button problem is fixed and I think the right joystick problem also so I "almost" like Open Zaurus now.  :-)

ya, me too ... and too bad I do not have 2 Zs ... so I am sticking with 3.13 sharp rom for now.

Frankly, the various images (OZ, TKC, Cacko etc) all are really very impressive to me. I mean, here we have working embedded OS running on commercial pdas like these Zs ... man, I take my hat off!  ... and that kinda explains my surprise when the touch screen continued to sleep on the recent build ...

hmmm, lpotter, wondering if you could point me to the qtopia 2.1 rom link? I did try 2.1.2 image from [a href=\"http://www.qtopia.net/downloads/roms]http://www.qtopia.net/downloads/roms[/url] ... and got the error. Ooops, ok, I just reread some posts on the forum and found that you said on 7/19 that you will update the rom image "next week".

So, is there a change in the build no. or something? The timestamp of the version I tried 2.1.2 (19-07-2005 7:23:46AM) is identical with a new download from qtopia.net.

On second thoughts, I think not. At least that's not the case for SHARP roms. I vaguely remember doing that for the Qtopia rom from Trolltech, qtopia.net.

Am using hentges rom right now and luving it!  ... just trying to get Belkin ir universal keyboard to work. gaim is on the list too. Somehow the default refuse to work for me! grrr

How do I get software to install on hentges, i've downloaded all of the feed from OZ, but ipkg install -d sd packagename does not always work.  I understand the dependances and all and I install anything it says it needs but nothing will display on my desktop.  Even after I click reload icons.

Also a lot of the preinstalled apps will not launch, I keep getting errors or they do nothing.

Any help is much appreciated.

You need to do a ipkg-link after installing the module, since you are installing to sd card.

if you know the ipk module name, not the filename, then do

#ipkg-link add module_name

if not, do

#ipkg-link mount /media/card

Note that this re-adds all the ipkgs found to be installed on the sd card and can take awhile.

You may try reloading the desktop icons by clicking on the "reload icons" icon under settings as well.
