If the C3000 uses the same setup as the earlier devices, a mobile-phone headset should work.  There's a thread under the CXXX devices that describes this, if I recall correctly.

As far as I'm aware the audio out port, can act either as a stereo audio out or as a mono audio out and microphone in.

You can even use the left earpiece of your headphones as a microphone if you don't have one.

Works okay, but I get popping p's with the headphone as mic

Has anyone tried using a microphone like the Electrovoice 635A with an XLR to 3.5mm adapter with their C1000 or C3x00? I'd like to create a field recording device that would record MP3 (probably hvve to use comprec/shine).

I haven't used that config. but I think you will need to use a pre-amp, otherwise the dynamics would sound like a potato. Mind that the audio in is monoaural and it's not easy to record directly to Mp3 without paying for dedicated commercial software.

What does a potato sound like?

Has anyone succesfully used a Bluetooth Headset on a Zaurus or are they not supported?

You know, a USB sound card might work (or a USB headset).  Might have to compile ALSA modules though.

The other possibility (still needing alsa) would be Core Sounds PDAudio CF card. This has alsa drivers already and is a cf card! So none of the potential problems of latency, etc of a usb sound card.

Check out the PDAudio system at [a href=\"http://www.core-sound.com/default.php]Core Sound PDAudio[/url]
