A Home For The Familiar People?
« on: January 04, 2005, 07:01:21 am »
Hello,

With the arrival of familiar 0.8, built with bitbake and OpenEmbedded a new era of cooperation has begun. With OpenZaurus, OpenSimpad and Familiar sharing the build system I thought it would be a good idea to a place in this forum where people with Familiar installed on their handhelds can share their experiences, problems and solutions. So here I am requesting that

An excellent idea, which I'd like to second. It would just require the addition of a forum for ipaq-specific (hardware) problems. The familiar base issues could be on topic in the OpenZaurus forums (which could be renamed OpenEmbedded based distributions).

I think it's a great idea, but I use Familiar linux on an iPAQ so I could be prejudiced. The only problem I see would be the confusion of so many different models but that could be resolved with a new layout. Anyway it's offroadgeeks server and bandwidth, so it's up to him... 6000+ members and growing.

I think it's a great idea!  Are there existing forums that the familiar people are using?

Being that we will be changing the forums to better accomodate multiple devices, etc., we will probably be pulling together a proposed new outline for the new forums for people to comment on.

Even easier then!  I'll include you in an email discussion to get the forum structure roughed out.

Thanks!
