Ti-85 Emulator
« on: April 06, 2005, 08:03:24 pm »
So am I just slow or is there a reason zTi85emu won't install on my C3000?

For those wondering what program I am refering to look here:
http://killefiz.de/zaurus/showdetail.php?app=425

It's an emulator for the Texas Instruments TI-85

Thanks

I wasn't able to install that ipk either. But I did get the version here to install

http://www.zaurususergroup.org/feed/zti85emu_0.72_arm.ipk

You do need to have the TI 85 ROM for it to work.

Thanks, any idea where to get the rom for the TI 85?

I own a TI-85 and would love to have it's functionality in my Z. (and if I could figure out my flickering LCD screen on my TI-85 too)

Thanks again! :-)

Answering my own question here, the Texas Instrument calculator ROMS are only legal to own if you own the calculator.

Texas Instruments is trying to keep the roms off the net, to get a rom you either need to buy a cable and download software to dump your own rom or

go here: [a href=\"http://www.brainetwork.net/index.php?pg=calc]http://www.brainetwork.net/index.php?pg=calc

As of today that site has most of the TI roms, I downloaded the TI-85 rom which I am legally allowed to have because I own a TI-85 calculator.

OK so I did get it to install, and supplied teh TI85 rom and configured it so it knows where the rom is. It starts, and then just seams to lock up.
you can tap any button, and it visually goes down but nothing happens.

Any ideas?

Thanks

The emulator is like the TI 85.. You have to press ON. At least that is what took me a bit to figure out. And it will turn itself off after a few moments. I apologize if you tried this already, sometimes I miss the easiest things

Were you able to install the newer version once you had the ROM or did you go with the version from the feed?

Oh I got it to turn on, but then it stops.
I can press any button and the button will visually depress, but thats all that happens. The ti85 display stays the same  with the "mem cleared defaults set" mesage staring at me, then yelowish lines appear in the display.

Im stumped

Hmmm.. Well here is the link to the [a href=\"http://216.239.39.104/translate_c?hl=en&u=http://web.tiscali.it/magazzinocartoniani/&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dti85%2Brom%2Bdownload%26start%3D20%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26c2coff%3D1%26sa%3DN]TI 85 ROM that I'm using, give this one a try.

I am using the .72 version. I'm not savy enough yet to know what differences may matter in terms of the Sharp ROM or kernel. I am using the 1.11 ROM and the 17h kernel from the tetsu site.

I'd be interested to know what you find that allows it to run.
