I had purchased some for my 5500 a long while back... it wasn\'t the thin/flimsy plastic screens, it was more of a thicker plastic screen that was a real pain to install, but once on, it was very nice.  I felt much more comfortable using the 5500 knowing that the screen was protected.  It did reduce the brightness of the screen a little.  I can\'t remember where and which screen I bought though... I\'ll see if I can find the details to post here.

I\'m now looking for the same kind of screen for my 760.  Especially since the screen is so damn nice,  and because you can flip the unit around and have the screen exposed (in view mode).  I also haven\'t found a case for it yet, so any protection I can find for it would be great.

I looked around for screen protector for my 5500.  Knowing that you can\'t run out to CompUSA and get something just for the 5500, I discovered that the Sony SJ20 and the 5500 have the same size screen.  A co-work of mine has a SJ20 and gave me one of his screen protector; and, BOOM, I am loving life.

Do screen protectors offer the same kinda protection as the hard plastic cover? I won\'t be putting this in the same pocket as my keys and such, but I do tend to have other such objects in my pockets... (Cell phone hands free kit, loose change, etc...)

Perhaps I should find a screen protector and a decent case.

The Brando screen protector posted above looks strikingly similar to the one that came with the C760. It has similar Japanese sticker on their website photo. Interesting...

No they are not the same as a hard case. The have to be \"soft\" as they have to let you operate the digitiser through them.

Will prevent scrathes from the stylus or using fingernails etc. But If you were to say apply a key to it and apply very firm pressure (As in I really want to scratch the screen) you would run in trouble.

We sell the brando ones and they are very durable, not throw away regularly like the cheap ones.

Best protectors we\'ve seen are the OverLay Brilliant ones. These are ultra clear with a gloss finish. Show fingerprints etc. though unlike the Brandos. Seam quite durable as well. Quite alot of money for a little peice of plastic though...

Zuber,

I have to agree with you on the Overlay Brilliant screen protectors.

I have just installed mine, bought from you, and it\'s hard to tell there is one installed.

Much better than the Brando one I bought for the 5500.
The brando one has \"covered\" up the scratches which were already on the screen, so was a good investment. It does \"dim\" the screen a little so I feel it would not do the cg sillicon screen on a 760 justice.

Strange thing about the G2 ones from what I\'ve read on forums etc.

Some people love them others hate them. Not too many inbetween.

Are they the \'floating ones\' ?

they\'re plastic and dont have any adhesive.. the thing is concave so that it curves towards the screen.. the screen protector you could say floats on the screen..

go on devnet and search for g2 and there\'s pics of it

I think best screenprotector by far is the http://www.shirtpocket.co.uk/cat/product_i.../products_id/47 - it fits the C7x0 and C8x0 series perfectly and its totally transparent - and still comes of easily - i just folded a piece of dutchtape and touched the screen gently and it stuck and could be lifted of again (i got a piece of hair stuck under the protector and had to remove it very gently. It was little bit tricky installing, but the nice english translation of the japanese instructions are very good and did the trick nicely (the instructions can be found here: http://www.shirtpocket.co.uk/spforum/index...p?showtopic=21) Btw. i didn\'t try the trick with the bathroom and steam :-)

Actually i have searched and searched and i think the ones at shirtpocket (made by a company called MIYAVIX,MIYAVIX.co.jp) are the only one specially made for C7x0 and C8x0 series.

Funny thing is, many of the people that buy the protectors from us, have bought \"12 pieces of cellophane\" previously and been happer having just received just the 1 piece of cellophane for the same price instead.

Have to admit, handing over money for a little peice of plastic does not feel right.

But then if you get the overlay brilliant ones, you will have paid $20 for a bit of plastic that you won\'t even know is there
