I wrote a script to reset the wifi.

Quote
/sbin/cardctl eject
sleep 4
/sbin/cardctl insert
sleep 4
/sbin/ifup wlan0

Running the script will fix the wifi the first time I run it, but on subsequence suspends/unsuspends, the wlan0 interface disappears again.

Error message follows:
Quote
wlanctl-ng: No such device
Failed to enable the device, exitcode= 1 .
run-parts: /etc/network-if-pre-up.d/wlan-ng exited with return code 1: Success

I saw something similar-- the suspend/esume thing-- once.  I  rebooted, and that seems to have been the end of it..
atm, I am on my sharp setup though--- I need an ssl able browser, and since my sharprom qtbased system is already working and backed up, it seemed easier to use than to configure and add software toan unconfigured opie.
any luck with minimo?
I'll get back to it today, maybe.

The Opera that comes with the base Sharp install can do tables, why can't Minimo?  Minimo is dead to me for that feature if nothing else.  Why have a nice 640x480 display if you can't take advantage of it?  My minimo won't even show scrollbars.  It's just not ready for primetime.

I'm looking for a Konqueror or Opera for the OZ 3.5.3.. if the suspend problem ever gets fixed.  I looked at the feeds provided and didn't see any other browsers.  But maybe I'm just not looking in the right places.

then the options are firefox on gpe, fix minimo
or bag gpe and use opie if you want to have konqueror, or opera.

I presume dillo is not up to scratch then (it's another GPE browser)?

My preference would be on fixing minimo - is this a GPE-build specific issue or a generic one?

Scrollbars aren't a major issue (a pain yes, but it's still usable without them by using the cursor keys)

Haven't tried dillo.

Dunno, I haven't tried any other versions of minimo.. I would assume it's a bug on this specific version/platform, because tables would seem to be a pretty important issue, but I've been wrong in assumptions before.

Well, it wouldn't be too bad, except in trying to fix the yellow lines graphic artifact, I killed key repeats.  I'm going to try Opie again.  It seems like GPE just has issue after issue.

Dillo is great.  It simply doesn't do ssl yet. Or, to be more specific, ssl isn't fully implemented. On the gpe version I think (not sure) that it simply doesn't do ssl. it certainly doesn't "out of the box."

I think, based on what has been said by others, that maybe minimo deosn't play well with the 6000.
One of my plans was to rebuild it on oe.. but I didn't get the version thing sorted out before I got a read error on one of my drives. I'm writing this from knoppix, while I dl a rescuecd that has dd_rescue.

While on the subject, has anyone actually got ir keyboards working with gpe?  In theory it can be done. I'm just not really clear on the implementation.

and (since I can't look at the metadata just now) photo app for the sharpcamera? v4l? gphoto? something? available yet?

i've had a fairly bad experience so far with OZ on the 6000.  I don't think i can install it, or even boot normally.  i'm giving the install 10 more minutes.  it would be nice if the install would give an indication that it was installing instead of giving the CG Silicon "please wait 30 seconds" screen.

That has to be user error, or flashing from a setup the oz updater isn"t handling.  It certainly boots, in both flavors.Don"t give up there!  find something that really doesn't work, then look at all the cool stuff that really does.
for example,  it is very cool to see the xine logo come up on a handheld.....don't you think?

Opie and GPE definitely don't play well together if you intend to flash one, then the other.

Restore from a NAND backup to the original Sharp ROM before you install OZ and things go much more smoothly.  At least that's my experience.
