This ROM is really nice.  Right down to the icons, but where can I get other hi-res icons for my other applications?  Are these icons from a specific theme?
SL5500 running nothing.  Will not hold a charge.  =(

Please, ask Stubear for the Japanese support package. A separate Japanese kernel is not requried any more for Japanese support, only a package installation.

WOW! The new ROM is brilliant! The apps, icons, font it's all great and all English! Great work maslovsky and thanks to you and the testers for all your hard work. I never expected it to be this much better than the Sharp one.

Am I correct in thinking the Cacko site has not been updated yet, or am I just missing something???

Regarding the files I see here: http://cacko.oesf.org/downloads/rom/1.23/

What do I do with cacko-1.23-kernel-2.4.18 and 2.4.20? Is it necessary to install them? If so, which one? What do they do?

Thanks!!

It's the source for the kernel.  If you want to recompile the kernel, you need it.  If you don't want to do that, you don't need it.

Yeah, tried to install it today, works. I was worried about the kernel issue because I didn't know how that's gonna be handled. Thanks maslovsky.

I can barely restrain myself from reflashing my 3100 and "doing the cacko" (sounds sweeeet) but the thought of losing my Japanese dictionary is a little painful..  For someone who knows close to zero (of course not me...) how can they keep it?

I believe the Japanese dictionary is in the Cacko feed.  So, after you've installed the ROM, run the package manager, install from network, and select the Cacko feed for your package repository.  Search that for the dictionary.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong...
