Xmms And Mplayer In Debian
« on: May 08, 2005, 05:14:21 am »
Hi, I bought an SL-C3000 a couple of days ago (my first zaurus) and have since installed X/Qt and Debian. I have barely even touched Qtopia as having debian in my pocket is too much fun.

I installed XMMS and the mad plugin, but I can't seem to get it to play anything. It runs fine and looks as nice as ever, but when I try to add anything to the playlist (mp3s or a pls file) nothing shows up in the playlist... and as a consiquence doesn't play anything.

What do I need to do to get it to play?

Are there any alternative mp3/streaming radio players for debian?

If neither of the above are possible, what are my options for players in Qtopia that work with my SL-C3000 (that play shoutcast radio stations, specifically)?

And finally... is mplayer available for debian on the zaurus? If so where from and would it be usable? (and again, any alternatives elsewhere?)

Theres a few questions to be keeping you all busy, while I go and mess around with my SL-C3000 some more
