For other keycodes you can use xev to find the keycode and the keysyms are available from...

Calling Meanie.....(or someone else if they know the answer...)

Installing Debian now per Meanie's webpage...

Install went OK.

Then, installed 'sudo' per webpage.

Instructions say to then configure sudo using the visudo command.

When I try to do that I get:

Code: [Select]
#visudo
visudo: command not found.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Mark

OK, checking that Meanie...

Code: [Select]
$echo PATH
/home/QtPalmtop/bin:/bin:/root/bin:/bin:/sbin:/usr/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/local/bin

So it looks like '/usr/sbin' is in my path right??

I checked that directory and don't see 'visudo' in there...

Thanks!!

OK, figured out the problem with visudo....

Turns out that somehow, I installed an earlier version of sudo by mistake...
After installing the later version, I was able to use visudo!

Edited sudoers file and Debian opened up OK....

Also, with this new install, I can change iceWM themes from the iceWM start>Themes menu!

Onward and upward......

Good to see that you got it working! I am currently trying to revamp some parts of my website, in particular the X/Qt section to make it a bit clearer. Hopefully I will be done before the weekend because then I'll be off to New Zealand again and not be online.

Meanie, ArchiMark, or anyone else that can help this newbie.

# visudo

root ALL=(ALL) ALL
zaurus ALL=(ALL) NOPASSWD: /sbin/ifconfig, /sbin/dhcpcd, /usr/bin/apache, /sbin/chroot, /bin/mount, /sbin/swapon

(per meanie's website)

When I enter # visudo in the console I get:

# subdoers file.
#
#This file MUST be edited with the 'visudo' command as root.
#
#See the subdoers man page for the details on how to write a subdoers file.
#
#Host alias specification

#User alias specification

#Cmnd alias specification

#user privilege specification
root      ALL=(ALL) ALL

"/etc/subdoers.tmp" 15 lines, 294 chars
(this last part is highlighted and I am not able to input anything)

Thanks for your help.

visudo is a shell for editing /etc/sudoers using vi, so it works exactly like vi. do a google on vi tutorials if you don't know how to use vi. I am a vi fan, so I will not be suggesting you to use any other editors
