there is a new mplayer out at http://atty.jp/?Zaurus%2Fmplayer including an update to bvdd

as far as what it updates, i will let google translation speak for itself
Update because it makes the bvdd the SDL correspond is main. The MPlayer itself has not changed almost. As for details please look at renewal past record.

The new Mplayer really good.
I use Windows Media Encoder to convert wmv from avi and wmv from rmvb.
Screen will blur only when movie images move very very fast.
In other condition, video and audio play synchronously.

this is my setting
SLC3000,Sharp 1.11, special kernel v18a, bvdd 0.4.0-1,mplayer-bvdd-iwmmxt 1.1.5-1, zplayer 0.1.0[default setting]

[ 2005-06-05 ] 1.1.5 † [ E ] * When the starting MPlayer, it possessed Zaurus edition version information and to output the presence of iWMMXt, *
[ w100 ] aspect ratio of animated picture itself and when playing back the animated picture where aspect ratio is different (the animated picture etc. of 352x240 which is set to 4:3) the problem which cannot be played back just was corrected *
[ bvdd ] made bvdd-0.4.0 correspond *
[ bvdd ] tried while playing back the animated picture to modify the based frame in 4BPP mode. Because use memory zone decreased, you think that a little it has become high speed. *
[ IWMMXt bvdd ] the animated picture where vertical width is not multiple of 16 the fact that slow drawing method was used was corrected (640x360 and the like)

i convert files below 200MB.Those files are Anime and Tv drama.
Converting  and Tansfering a 700MB extremlely waste time. It's not worth.

There was an mencoder line on another thread that I tried on a 700MB file, it changed the resolution(don't remember what to), the bitrate was cut down to 64Kbps though... it looked ok on slow scences, but terrible on the fast ones... subs were readable, but it felt like a throughback to downloading movies in old realmedia formats... (the file was down to 134MB though...) I then tried a 230MB file at 1024Kbps (rest of the line was identicle) and ended up with a 130MB file that looked incredible (especially compared to the other...)

actually it is working  its just hitting the end of file. mabey your file is corupt or mplayer interprets it wrong

mplayer still works without acess to the rtc, it falls back to a software one i belive (dont quate me on that)

i would say that it might be a mplayer-arm issue, try mplayer on your pc and see if it does the same thing

Great new mplayer! It finally plays my video files.
But how do I make the display fullscreen? The usual key "f" in mplayer doesn't work here (SL-C3000).
The video files I have are MPEG2, exported from Pinnacle Studio 9. The video is played in a very small box (using Kino2), about the size of 4 Zaurus keys...

Do I have to set parameters for mplayer in the Kino config?

If I use the "scale to screen" swith in the "view" menu, the screen turns white with a horizontalgrey  bar in the top area and I don't know how to escape there (Cancel, Q, Home etc. don't work, I have to reset the unit; or is there another soft-reset method?).

Thanks
daniel

hey da blitz, thanks for the info, the avi works ok if i do a straight mplayer file.avi, it plays it at 320x200 sideways and to the left of the screen...

it seems the case for all types of avis.... they just dont want to play fullscreen.... the demo_nemo avi i got from the forums to test out

ok got it sorted!

# modprobe bvdd

# mplayer -vm -fs -vo bvdd demo-nemo-on-sd.avi

using tetsu 18a kernel, new mplayer iwmmxt 1.1.5, bvdd 0.4 and libsdl, libmad from zports.sf.net, libvorbisdec1 from zaurususergroup.org/feed

this also worked with kino2 and zplayer 0.1 by putting the same switches as above in the preferences...

try it with http://webpages.charter.net/cresho/demo-nemo-on-sd.avi
sound and video are full screen, all in sync and all at the right speed fps....
