need help building custom 760 rom...
« on: July 19, 2003, 01:59:01 am »
So I have a 760 and I\'m trying to build a custom rom. I\'m essentially just trying to remove the user dictionary and the japanese fonts, mainly to recover the much desired ram space. I don\'t need to engilsh-ize it as it\'s from dynamism.

I\'ve created a tarball of the clean dynamism filesystem, and I\'ve just downloaded the source 760 rootfs, and I noticed that there a directory is not on the source rootfs, but it is on the dynamism fs.... /usr/ QtPalmtop.rom/

Now this is where the user dictionary is located (among other things). So I\'m wondering if I remove the files for the dictionary, and then copy this whole directory to the source rootfs before creating the initrd.bin. Is this correct? Anyone have any other suggestions/tips?

TIA,

offroadgeek

Hey offroadgeek!
I can\'t really provide much...I am actually using the Japanese ROM and dictionary (I live in Japan...might as well!).  So, if you need me to poke around mine and answer questions or try to translate...I\'d be glad to help!
