Openbsd For Zaurus Discontinued
« on: September 29, 2016, 09:49:04 am »
It has been announced that the support for Zaurus has been discontinued, for the reason that "it hasn't made the EABI jump and will be permanently broken shortly when we use the hardware thread register in userland".

http://undeadly.org/cgi?action=article&...=20160904101952

So, the last version of OpenBSD for Zaurus will be the recently released 6.0: https://www.openbsd.org/60.html

I wonder how much effort it would have taken to do the switch from OABI to EABI...

That's too bad......but there were various issues with OpenBSD....tried it with several versions...

Think the effort with Arch is probably more promising at this point....

Just my 2 cents....

I agree, Zalarm should have a higher priority...

Sad to see official support dropped by OpenBSD but I agree the Zalarm project is a superior successor.

PS:  Glad to see everyone back

Hi Walt,

I never tried OpenBSD on my Z to be honest. But I agree, sad to see it go. I guess some of the BSD devs loved their Zaurus...until now.

ArchLinux ARM is still running but needs more users and testers.

Cheers!
