The best console app so far

I just installed Qkonsole on my 5500 and it looks interesting.
Been following this thread on gentoo.org:
http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php?t=3...=dvorak&start=0
on console only aps and was starting to think about making my Zaurus like that (does anyone know if you can make the console on the Zaurus rotate, or do you need Qt for that?)

Qkonsole in full screen mode is a nice alternative.

Thanks to Giorgio\'s post on  creating /dev/ttya0 through ----what? I stopped at 8, looking at
/dev/tty for my example. Taking advantage of the opportunity to learn some Linux, what exactly did I do here, and why was 8 the right place to stop?

Curiously,  it sees my Chinese fonts, but when I try to type something with CKeyboard, I still see questionmarks. This would be quite the ap indeed if it could handle the input fonts like my
QpZidian dictionary can.

I am unsure when he will relase the new ipk, I have version 0.93.

There is a simple workaround for now, go into fullscreen mode, then the problem goes away, even if you go back to the windowed mode.

I don\'t want to upload the version he sent me without his knowledge or agreement.

I installed the freely available v0.9.2 yesterday on my C760, but it started just like an 5x00 app in portrait mode with all icons in the task bar in low res. And there was no way to rotate back. Did I do something wrong? Or will I just have to wait until 0.9.3 becomes available to the public?

Regards

Peter

Hello,

Can qkonsole be used in landscape mode? I started it with screen in landscape config but
the app shows up in portrait mode. Thanks.

Tap-hold the qkonsole icon and make sure the run in magnified mode checkbox is unchecked!

Curious that the same question and answer were only posted 4 days earlier in this same thread.     laziness

Yes, there is lot of it on this board

Seems that few people bothers to use the search function before posting here.

Sorry about my faux pas guys. Actually I do use the search function quite often
but do admit being lazy sometimes.

Hi,

Still very new to the Z.  I just flashed sharp rom 1.32 and then installed Qkonsole 0.9.3 today.  Everything works well but even with the font set to 12 and the highest of the 3 zoom levels that seem to be available, the font is still too small.   I have poor eyesight so any help in getting a larger displayed font in this application (or any other apps or system SW for that matter) will be a great help.

Thanks,
ST

I\'m running qkonsole on a 5600 and all is fine except that for some reason it doesn\'t inherit my .bashrc right away.  I have to run \'bash\' at the commandline to get it to work out that I have a /home/zaurus/.bashrc file with alias l=\'ls -l\'.  Strange!  Any suggestions?

In your /etc/passwd file, change the shell for the user \"zaurus\" from /bin/sh to /bin/bash. On a linux box, one can do this simply with the command chsh, but that doesn\'t appear to be present on my 5500 (ROM 3.13). You will need root privileges to change the passwd file.
Hope this helps.
