« on: September 27, 2005, 07:46:51 pm »
It's been a while since I have used Zaurus SL5500
and I need to install a Filemanager an Terminal app to work with Linux on Zaurus.
I have a working network , Add/Remove programs is no good it won't connect and download
anything, Where and how do I get these two apps and install them?

You can get the apps here (from elsi):
terminal
file manager
just download them onto a CF or SD card and install them via the Add/Remove Software app.

Or, since you say that you have connectivity working on your Z, make sure you have the Add/Remove Software manager setup correctly with a good feed.   When you click on "Install packages via netork" option, click on the little light switch icon (near the bottom right), then enter in a valid feed url (name it ZUG or whatever you want):
http://www.zaurususergroup.org/feed/

Select the feed, and tap OK.... the feed should pull up and you can install the apps that way.

Good luck

As for terminal app, I recommend to use qkonsole using the following feed:

http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/qpdf2/q...rm.ipk?download

It is recommended to be downloaded to SD or CF memory card via your desktop Linux or windows machine.
