So far it works pretty well. The only issue I'm having is that when I turn off/suspend the Zaurus, the hard drive light stays lit. Is this normal behavior? Can we stop it from lighting? I don't think that the hard drive is actually active.

@sylpil : would you be interrested in a pivot_root install for c3100 ? if yes, why ?
(I should make one if enough people are interrested in this one)
SL-C3000 - pdaXrom 1.1.0Beta1
SL-C860 - pdaXrom 1.1.0 RC8 (charging circuitry dead :( )
CF RamStar 512 Mb / Hitachi 4Gb microdrive (thanks to creative's muvo² :p)
SD Sandisk 1Gb / Viking 256 Mb
Linksys WCF13 CF wifi card

Anyone willing to donate for my work, please consider donate to pdaXrom and/or OE/OZ projects instead, I wouldn't have been able to do anything without them ...

Hi guys,

I was downloading it for 1,2 hours - so I thought I put it onto my server (if you are okay THc, PM me if you do not like this!)

File can be downloaded
HERE

Off now to play around with it :-) Thanks a lot THC!

I'm interested. Presumably it would mean no more symlinking madness?

However it seems that the HDD has to be repartitioned into a single 4GB (correct me if I'm wrong as I have only been following this thread on and off). Is it not possible to retain a fat partition so that the Z can still be used as a usb-storage device for dumb windoze clients?

Yes no fat partition, Z cannot be used as a usb-storage.
Install Winscp on Windows and you can made FTP over SSH (with TCP/IP over USB).
I think every body here prefer to use TCP/IP over USB to take control of his Zaurus (SSH) than mount usb-storage like a USB-Key

Just a short feedback...

I'm successfully installed this pdaxrom image on my C3000 (but extracted the hdimage.tgz myself, because i didn't read the workaround above). Thanks.

But another problem occured if i left a memory-card in the cf-slot, the init-script tried to mount this card as root. I think this is sometimes a very welcome behaviour, but should not be the default behavour?

Thanks again for made my C3000 usefull
Sven

Hi Flavien,

this is something that can be overcome be using this [a href=\"http://www.fs-driver.org/]http://www.fs-driver.org/[/url] freeware driver under windows. I can access my internal ext3 partition aswell as my Z with this very fine.

But for the Linux install I would *NOT* recommend other but ext2 or ext3... The symlinking and the naming conventions of good old DOS are not appropriate for a Linux system in my eyes.
