Yes, publishing positive reviews of our beloved gear will bring you fame and fortune here   Well, at least fame!

Are you still using an 860?

it wasn\'t just that... the disappearance of all the sharp sites have really increased the traffic (and bandwidth) here.  the cacko thing was just a trial anyway.

I would love to be able to fund the hosting of any and all zaurus projects, but my primary loyalty is to the zug.

Yes I\'m still using it. In fact I\'m using it to post this reply-- been playing around with Opera 7.3 and had to give it a test run by visiting ZUG.

Very true   Not a good test run otherwise...

As a note, your review contributed to me ordering a C860, along with the following thread:

Of course, being an SL-5500 user, it wasn\'t too difficult to convince me!

Which new Clie? Sony comes out with a new one every month

I do own a UX50 (most obvious competitor) and I prefer the C860 for most things thanks to the keyboard, VGA display and faster/more robust WiFi. The UX50\'s camera is very fun though and it\'s nice to have BT and WiFi integrated.

I don\'t think the new TH55 or the new TJs compare since they\'re slates with no keyboards.

Yeah, I meant the UX series..

The only thing i like about the UX series is that the BT and Wifi are integrated.. camera doesnt hurt either. Thats about it. Two things going against it. One, it\'s a Sony (read PROPRIETARY memory). Two, it\'s running palm OS, which isn\'t that bad but I rather chose Pocket PC

I played around with the wireless and Netfront on the UX is strange. It\'s not very user friendly, and browsing is a bit slow.

I wish I could get the c860, but it\'s just too much. Maybe, if I sell both 5500 and c700

I am trying to rationalize binging on the 860.  I have the 5600 and find the keyboard invaluable for work.  The part in the review about thumb typing at 30-40 wpm is a great rationalization.  I am using opera 7 on the 5600.  Is the surfing experience better (load faster,,,) on the 860 with opera or netfront than a 5600.

My other use for the 5600 is showing pictures of my kids.  The part in the review about the killer screen really helped.  Photographs on the 5600 are OK but a far cry from what the reviewer describes (better than the camera LCD).

I find the C860s not only better than the camera\'s LCD (that\'s not hard) but better than my other PDAs and my high end Sony 19\" desktop LCD. I don\'t have a 5600 anymore so I can\'t tell you if the C860 is faster browsing. Opera 7 is faster than NetFront on mine, but both are very fast. Opera is as fast as my desktop\'s browsers.
