I've been looking into VOIP software/sevices for my home/buisness.  I would love to be able to make called from my C1000 but i don't know if anyone has built the software.  And did anyone ever resolve the issues of using a headset?

I had kphonepi working on the Sharp Rom, but could not get it working correctly with pdaXrom RC11 or 12. Also tried unsuccessfully to run kphone. This was some time ago, so I can't post the output. I would be very happy to get any phone client working on pdaXrom.

As for headset - I previously used an old stereo headphone set with the left earpiece working as the mic. It worked surprisingly well !!

I only see one headphone jack on the side of my C1000, does it function as an input as well as an output on the other channel at the same time? Or do you need to connect an USB or BT device? (If so, which one would you recommend?)

Just plug in the headphones into the headphone jack - the left earpiece will function as a mic.

I don't know about USB headsets on the Z 1000, you may need a usb host adapter. If your network connection is through a CF WIFI card then you wont be able to use a BT card at the same time. Maybe a BT dongle would work hanging from the Z USB port ? My 760 doesn't have USB host functionality - so I've not tried this.

This post also describes using a heaset as a mic...
