Openttd Ported To The Zaurus
« on: February 12, 2006, 02:34:27 pm »
Hi everyone. I took a day off from working on ZPSX to do this port.
If you don't know what OpenTTD is, it's a modification of the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe source released by Chris Sawyer.
I ported OpenTTD to the Sharp Zaurus in about 3 hours, but everything seems to be working well. It runs GREAT in 640x480.

Grab ZTTD at:
http://www.friggingames.com/zttd_021206.zip

Instructions are included, as well as source, and binaries.

Feel free to merge this release into a Zaurus distro.

Thanks,

Maybe because OpenZaurus users like me (using it 2 days now  ) can see what pdaxrom applications are comming to openzaurus.

I asked if others would include this release in other distro's...of course as long as it worked.

Hope that wasn't an issue.

No problem - but everytime there is a post about basically anything hrw uses the chance to promote the OZ project - which he has been told numerous times not too.

Cool! It was my favorite game. But I've got some problems with touchscreen in this game (it gets wrong coordinats until restart of zttd).

P.S. Any Chance to see zttd based on OpenTTD 0.4.7 ? http://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?forum_id=555473

P.S.S. And any chance to have zttd with disable sound function? (I think it may be a bit faster then with -s null and -m null becouse Zaurus won't decode it)

Hello! I will do a port of OpenTTD's latest nightly build (there's been a few fixes since 0.4.7 in the nightly builds) for the Zaurus. I think you can actually disable sound currently by editing the openttd.cfg file. At the top there is a sound entry. Set it to "null" without the quotes. Same can be done with music.

I'm aware of the stylus bug, I had it fixed I think, but there was a lack of interest for the port so I never kept up with it.

For those who are new to this thread, OpenTTD is based on the open sourced Transport Tycoon Deluxe game. It runs GREAT on the Zaurus Cxxxx series and others with 640x480 screens as it's the native TTD resolution.

I'm dedicated to sticking with pdaXrom for my ports, and am really excited for the kernel 2.6 improvements coming.

I appreciate the support for this project Civil, if more people are interested in this project, please reply as well and I'll start keeping up with the nightly builds instead of by request.

Soon to come to ZTTD...Electric rails!

I don't know how it works, but if I'm right there will be no speed up (for example mplayer -ao null a lot slower then mplayer -nosound . I think there will be same thing)
