Does anyone know of a cheap wifi card that works with OpenZaurus. This is for a 5500, so low power would be preferable, but price will probably be the deciding factor. Suggestions?

I use the Origo/Senao - no problems at all, much better than the D-Link DCF 650-W I used to have.

Could be - they certainly get a fair bit of bad press. I've bought the one item from them and found them OK although it was over a year ago. Probably wouldn't use them for anything expensive.

You can buy a Symbol Compact Flash CF WiFi Wireless Card LA-4137 from ebay. It's about $40 new, low power consumption and works with openzaurus out of the box(tried with Hentges ROM on C1000).

or try your local electronics shop and look in the reject bin. when I first bought my Z last year the SanDisk 128 card was like $ 240 here in Aus and I thought, shit too expensive. Recently, I found it lying in a reject/sales bin for like $60. what a few months do to the prices these days...

I thought the SanDisk 128MB card didn't work? Or maybe it was just the memory that wouldn't work.... Any chance either staples or radioshack would have something like this?

SanDisk Connect+ works well for wifi, when I tested the IDE/Wifi at some time it tended to crash both functions so we turned off IDE detection in 2.6 kernel until someone works out how to get both working.

Symbol card is great! I can find some 2-nd handed cards for about 20$ or so. But the international shipping may kill the deal.

got new one on ebay for 22EUR by ADTEC (appearantly similar/equal to D-Links type2 cards). Uses prism chipset and works with all ROMs out of the box (cacko, pdaXrom, OZ) with C860. However I think I should have paid a little more to get a good one: Range and power consumption or suboptimal. (And I have 1700mAh accu)

What about the LInksys WCF12? I've seen that on ebay for $35. THe local staples doesn't have CF wifi cards, and I believe radioshack sells the Connect+ w/ PCMCIA adaptor for like $130. Other suggestions?

The Linksys WCF12 (no visible revision number, 'Made in Taiwan') works perfectly with OZ 3.5.3 on my SL-5500.

I got one for roughly $40 CAD from my university's bookstore, so you might want to try asking at places like that before using eBay. (Shipping hurts)
