I got one working with MAME. Just plugged it in and played with a few command line options till it worked.
I think the version of MAME was using SDL but I'm having a hard time remembering where it was.

Not quite related, but is it possible to compile drivers for an Xbox 360 controller? Noting

, it seems very messy or infeasible. And noting
the path
of the source, it seems that it's for the 2.6 kernel. But it would be nice if it was possible.
