I didn't buy it but had some look at it at a bookshop, and it turned out to be merely a list of FAQs or HOW-TOs you can easily find on the net.  The active readers of this forum shouldn't need it, unless you are keen on learning Japanese language :-)

Thanks, that's the kind of info I was looking for. So I won't be ordering that book then.

I've scratched my head a few times at this... I've seen numerous references to pdaXrom on Japanese websites. Did Sashz begat pdaXrom or does it's origins pass beyond Sashz? Or something else that I don't understand?

The japanese sites you see are projects by the japanese to turn pdaxrom into japanese since it by default is in english and many japanese people don't know english.
there is also a chinese version of pdaxrom for each model!
maybe the pdaxrom site should link to all these localisation efforts so people who dont know english well can easily find a pdaxrom version in their native language.

Wow, that is amazing. We take a Japaneses PDA, convert it to English and then Sash writes an almost entirely new OS for it in English and then the Japanese want to port that OS back to Japanese. Crazy!

pdaXrom is bigger than I thought it was.

Sharp should just hire Sashz!

I DO really think so

pdaxrom is far better than any other distro; as long as you need/like a tiny laptop, obviously (as I do  )

I dunno... Pdaxrom is a decent pda--for basic pim type stuff fltdj works fine for me.... it can be hotkeyed what else does one need, though it could stand polishing?
(I guess a power pda user might use kopi, and keep it minimized for fast starts)
