4gb Cards With Cacko
« on: June 25, 2006, 08:39:38 am »
I want to add more storage space to my Z and seeing as my CF slot is normally occupied by my wifi adapter and 150x 4GB SD cards are very cheap now I was thinking about buying one, but

* Can I access all 4GB under Cacko w/ testsu kernel on the c3000

* This card claims it can handle 150x, which is about 22MB/s. I know the cxxxx are supposed to be able to do 16MB/s through the CF slot, but what can they manage through SD?

There'd be no problem with getting a 4GB CF card instead though would there?

What about using the updated SD driver that comes with the C3200? Does this module work with Cacko for the C3000? Anyone tried a 4GB card with it?

Hi,

You do need the driver that dproidan gave you.  If you don't use it, it cause the zaurus to hang until you remove the SD card.

And yes, I have a 150X 4 Gig Sd Card by Transcend (Zaurus reports it as a Hitachi) and it works great with the driver.

Cacko 1.23 and updated sd-mmc driver
4 Gig SD
Linksys WCF-12 CF Card

SL-5500 quietly sitting on shelf
ROM (unknown)
256 M SD Card

Netgear Wireless CF cards are the worst, went through 2 of them!

Where is a good place to buy these cards?

What about an oem one like this:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000FNEIM...1332158?ie=UTF8

Should I be worried about that?

oh shoot ... I almost got a 2gb sd card the other day but returned it for a 1gb card without realizing this sdcard driver issue.

This thread should pinned as FAQ or something.

just found that old topic when I was searching the answer for same question.... I tried to use the module from pdaxrom and 2GB SD works now in cacko and c700. The module specified in this topic cannot work as the c1000 uses different kernel version

I was happily using a 4GB non-hc SD card with Cacko, and now happily with Angstrom.

I think SDHC will work with Angstrom only, and maybe variants of pdaXrom with kernel 2.6

I use the SDi/o driver for the wifi sd card of a company I can't remember the name.
It works fine with >1GB non-SDHC cards on my c760 powered by Cacko.
