We'll keep this up until it drives one of you mad genii totally insane to the point of hacking together a perfectly coded pxa270 video overlay driver thats as fast (or faster than) the bvdd one of yore!

How about people getting a clue and search before asking? I'd be happy to answer questions over and over again if people show me their support contract.

lmao... sounds like a touchy subject.

when last I checked (some months ago) the guy doing the 2.6 (purdie)  was of the opinion that there were more pressing matters to attend in 2.6 development, and that there wasn't a feasable (consistant with upstream development? consistent with some other aspect of kernel development?) means t add overlay support. I think sashz at pdaxrom is more eager to include overlay in 2.6, but as it hasn't appeared there yet either I'm guessing it might be awhile yet.  IMHO we'll be really unexpectedly lucky to see working overlay support in angstrom or pdaxrom beta5.
sorry to be so vague. and inaccurate.   I think I got the gist right---- we won' see it soon

Its appauling the way Sharp have almost totally neglected the Z in terms of software, especially OS and kernel development. How much would it cost them now to bring us the code for a good overlay driver for 2.6 and add a few badly needed missing features to OZ/GPE (search in package manager, more complete minibrowser) and they have a KILLER product and we know it- don't they??

Petition anyone?

As anyone who's had to trudge through Sharp's 2.4 kernel hacks will tell you, you want Sharp to stay as far away from software development as possible  Now, if they were to offer some hands-off financial sponsorship to some of the existing Zaurus open source projects, that would really rock ... but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Sorry Koen..., i had searched the forum, but I could not find any clear answer, i am very new to the zaurus world, and i tried pdaxrom and OZ, and i really like OZ, but mplayer seems to work better in pdaxrom with bvdd than OZ, that's why i asked.
Sorry for upset you.

search is touchy at the best of times. there seems to be a trick or two to get it to work.
