Text Editor Recommendation?

Hello,

I'm looking for a GUI-based, fast, lightweight text editor which allows for user-definable keyboard macros, date- and timestamp insertion, editing several files at once, search feature, adjustable font and font size.

What do I mean by "fast"?
It should be as fast as leafpad. Especially it should have a fast startup.

Does anyone know such an editor?

I haven't tried leafpad, but I use nedit, which does pretty much everything you're asking for.  If you want to try it, download the attachement.  It requires lesstif from one of the pdaXrom feeds.

have instaled it, works fine.
Some issues are still open. Discussing them in [a href=\"https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=21432]This thread[/url] now.

It seems to be a very capable  editor!
