yeh.. our seeming to be stuck at newer gecko verions could get worrisome.
which brings up the issue...again... maybe we should look harder at another rendering engine if we can find one comparable?
afaik there is the gtk? engine...weak and unsstable (if osbbrowser is any indication). the kde engine as is it has big dependencies, but maybe can be tweaked....and gecko, which rocks but doesn' seem to complie on pdax anymore? also what about quickie wysisyg web editing? possible in KDE w/ quant plus or gecko with seamonkey/composer.
any one know another route? have a glimmer of hope for keeping up with gecko?
