Figlabs Conversion Vs Others
« on: February 03, 2006, 06:03:54 am »
Hey there

I've a C1000 that I bought via shirtpocket. The conversion is fine.

However, just having read the figlabs site after having downloaded their excellent zudoku game, their conversion sounds much better.

Has anyone got a C1000 conversion from figlabs, can the comment?

My biggest annoyance with my C1000 are the fonts in Hancom Word, they always default to this nasty font and even if you save the file with a different font, the fonts revert to the nasty one on reopening. I'm not entirely sure if that's the conversion, but my 5500 never did that.

There are other little annoyance, but I'm genuinely interested in people's experiences and recommendations

Hmmm.......that's strange. You have the Sharp ROM and the text size defaults to the tiny one?? I had the Sharp ROM on mine till about 3 weeks ago and text size was fine. But then I flashed to Cacko 1.23 heavy, and NOW the text size is so small I can't read it. Always have to open a file(Hancom Word), then zoom to readable size.....no matter how large the text size was when imported to the Zaurus, or what size I resave it as.

Does anyone have a fix for this??

I had exactly the same problem with Cacko, the Hancom Word fonts were absurdly small without zooming.

In my default sharp rom, I got oversized text and a bad font as the default.

I guess I'd better leave comments on our Full English conversion to our customers, since i'm a little biased

As for the default font in Hancom Word, I can confirm that after conversion it is set to a rather nice Serif font at a decent size.

Hello All,

At the risk of starting something here, did ANYONE ever get to a general chat about the efficacy and quality of Fig Labs conversion??

Though they do cost a bit more (sorry Rob   ) I don't mind paying for hassle free experiences.  And "JK on the run" www.jkontherun.com waxed lyrical about the conversion (a rather good reviewer).

Cheers,
