you need to restart the pcmcia service for it to recognise the new settings and reload the drivers
[div align=\"right\"][a href=\"index.php?act=findpost&pid=159757\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

Forgot to mention, I've rebooted and try and got the same result, so the pcmcia service should have been restarted. No luck

OT: Meanie, your akita initrd is 5.3.6 while hdimage-full is 5.4 beta. I installed these set and get icewm as default. So is the result 5.4 version or should I wait for 5.4 initrd?

Tried 5.4.1 but Pretec Wifi CF remained fail. Same symptom (error code 64 ???). Deleted all hermes files in etc and still fail. Seems we Pretec users have to stick with 5.3.3 with no further upgrade

Meanie, the creation of a new normal user seems to be broken in the base install on my 3100.
After using useradd <username> the home directory of the new user gets (seemingly) properly created, however the attempt to start X after login as this new user results in an immediate exit from X with no logging (dmesg & /var/log/messages). Can you take a look into this (this used to work in Beta3).
Also, what is the purpose of the "zaurus" user and homedir?

Would it be possible also to include the jikes 1.22 compiler in the feed?

Thanks for your great work,
C3100 pdaXrom

I believe that the zaurus username is there to prevent the need to make a new user, but I haven't used pdaXii13, nor am I related to the project, so I could be way off.

Hey guys,

Does the Pdxii13 build located on this link
"http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/akita/" include IceWM as the windows manager???

I'm wondering if there's a version of Pdaxii13 for C1000 with IceWM as the default manager.

Thanks,

VirtusRex

From the IceWM thread:
https://www.oesf.org/forums/index.php?showt...ndpost&p=160499

The latest icewm and rotate package will be part of pdaXii13 full 5.4.1, pdaXii13 base (akita) will have the latest rotate as well but icewm needs to be manually installed....

meanie, if you read this, I just went to "http://www.tyrannozaurus.com/feed/pdaXii13/akita/" and that page says pdaxii13-akita is version 5.4.2
So I went to your page here:
http://www.users.on.net/~hluc/myZaurus/pdaxii13.html and downloaded "pdaXii13-custom.tgz", then upgraded.
Everything went well, but when I opened a console and typed "version", I got this:
pdaxii13 build5.4.1 "Sally"

Is this version number correct, or do I actually have version 5.4.1?

Thank you,
Jon

EDIT: Additional information.
I upgraded from version 5.3.4

I want to know also. I installed 5.4.2 initrd.bin & hdimage-full.tgz 5.4.1beta. I'm doing so as I expect the new 5.4.2 can solve hermes wifi issue, but I have the same issue as before, so not sure if it is 5.4.2 already.

The new version is very nice. If only I could have my wifi work on it ... No matter what, thanks you very much Meanie!

yeah, you got 5.4.1

note that at some times when I am in the process of updating, things will be out of sync for a bit because it takes time to upload things, currently it takes me 1.5 hours to upload initrd.bin and 5 hours to upload hdimage-full.tgz and I skip uploading hdimage-base.tgz most of the time since it would also take an extra 1.5 hours. also there is zgcc-3.4.6.squashfs and pdaXii13-custom.tgz as well as the custom feed that also get regularly updated but I am not able to upload them all at the same time so it may take up to a week (or longer if I am on the road or travelling) to have a release fully uploaded and the versions synchronised...

read the accompanying pages. they always indicate which version is available and the version number behind the file name is always right even if the release notes have newer versions which just means the file has not been updated yet due to above mentioned reason...

you will also notice that akita base is updated before spitz full most of the time (due to upload speed and time) which means 3100/3200 will need to wait for the new hdimage-full to be uploaded and not flash latest initrd.bin for akita and expecting the older hdimage-full.tgz will magically morph itself into a newer version....

you need to create /etc/skel and then create a new user
not all commands in the xinit scripts have sudo added (i started doing it at some stage but never actually finished it.

hmm. i thought i had made jikes before and it was on my feed, but it most have gotten lost when i moved my pdaXrom feeds from daemons to tyrannoaurus...
