no!  the commands are fine.  It is most likely related to something else in your case but in my case, the mounting of my cf slot dies after a reboot or after connection from a bluetooth.  so ejecting and inserting the cf card was the way to go.  Yours is a different issue totally.
can i ask what gps card you using?  is it free?  im new to this and i want to add gps to the zaurus.  ohh and post files and stuff too if you can do me the favor.

I'm using the Ambicom GPS card. I got it at Staples, they had to order if for me, but it is on the Staples website. It cost $94. 95 (I always pay too much for stuff because I don't have credit cards)
I haven't used my GPS since last summer. I use qpegps 0.9.2.3.3 (qpegps_0.9.2.3.3_arm.ipk)

It has gpsd built in and automatically starts searching for satellites when launched.
Once satellites are acquired, I can launch zroadmap and use both qpegps and zroadmap to find my location. (zroadmap_1.0-3_arm.ipk)
I don't use it while driving, since I only ride a motorcycle. I pull over and check it from my saddlebag.

If you use zroadmap, you'll need to download maps, which are outdated, but give you a general idea where you are.
[a href=\"http://roadmap.digitalomaha.net/maps.html]http://roadmap.digitalomaha.net/maps.html[/url]

I don't remember much now, but one important thing to do in qpegps is make this setting in the "GPS" tab
--------------------------------
gpsd Settings:
args: -p /dev/ttyS3 -s 4800
--------------------------------

Thanks for the links.  I have been up and down those links for sometime now.  I have a ouple of issue with qpegps:

Can't 9.3 version to launch on my cacko full 1.23

with older versions 9.2.3.3 I can't get the maps to animated or to get the map that I from these maplinks that are listed.  Do you know of any documentation or if you can push me in the right direction for using animated within qpegps.  Like a how to.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

cschafer, I am not sure what you mean by animated, unless you are talking about having the map move while you are driving. I only use my GPS for static maps, I don't drive while using GPS.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable about GPS will offer some information.

Here's a site with downloadable maps. I just copy them to my desktop PC and transfer them to my Zaurus.
This site also includes the coordinates number that you need to put into maps.txt

Yep that is what I was talking about.  I have been to that site it is very slick, but when I try to use the map in GPS mode it drops from the map tab.

Hi,
I'm using a new qpegps version qpeGPSNV EDITION 1.1.15 Beta on my C-3200 with a Haicom USB 204 GPS. Although It's still in beta stage iT works for me after setting up root privileges and changing the map and tracks dirs.

It came to me without maps or without been able to load them after installing the app.

I've downloaded them from the server by using the download option. Once they are downloaded qpeGPSNV loads them automatically showing the static position that the receiver catch, also there is a tap where it's possible to sellect within the different map pieces which are marked by it's degrees.

You can mark any position, not only the real, in any map you have downloaded, and get more from the net covering any area as wide and deep as you want.

I haven't tried navigation on the road yet, but I'm making a good repository.

But it takes some time to get the maps.

Before this I tried the 0.9.2.3.3-map version that worked also fine for me, with, at the moment, almost the same result as the new version.

It comes in English, but there are also a french version, I guess.

You can download it from this site:

http://www.ngsoft-fr.com/fr/page.php?q=../...Packages%20list

There are some interesting news about TomTom running on C3x00 and Speculatrix has promised an IPK for Amstrong ROM (which uses kernel 2.6.) to be released soon.

(I'm starting to think about having Cacko and Amstrong together on my Z, if there is a way.)

You can read it at:
