Socket Lan Cf Shown As Unsupported?

Here someone says pcnet_cs is compiled into the kernel.

Where does the original file come from?
How do I know if I have, or don't have this compiled inside the kernel?
After a lot of searching, it seems that a lot of people use "bind pcnet_cs" in their config file.
I'm very confused, is it hidden somewhere? or if it needs to be compiled, where do you find the source?
I have also read various threads where this card was working, and it is listed on the ethernet card support page.
