Ghosting Again- Where Is Zaurushw?
« on: July 11, 2007, 06:25:02 pm »
As recommended I have installed pdaXii13. I've had the ghosting problem in every ROM I've tried so far, and haven't been able to get rid of it. Fiddling with the settings in the DM menu doesn't do anything. It always looks perfect in the menu, but pdaX seems to be ignoring the settings or something. I have no idea how to view or change them when pdaX is running, and having to reboot every time is very annoying. One thread mentioned that fiddling with zaurushw fixed it, but I can't find zaurushw anywhere. Where has it gone?

Any ideas?
Thanks
Simon

Not sure what happens on the 2.4 kernel based pdaX (I've allmost allways used the 2.6 kernel based ones) and I'm not even sure if Sash had the zaurushw thing implemented on the 2.4 kernel.
Anyway on the 2.6 kernel based pdaX the setup is in /etc/sysconfig/zaurushw and the script that uses it in /etc/rc.d/init.d/zaurushw.
You should have it linked in /etc/rc.d/rc5.d/Sxxzaurushw.

If this is no use then wait untill some experienced pdaxii13 user helps you out on it.
Regards
David

Those files don't exist. A 2.6 based pdaXrom? I thought they were still working on it. Where do I get one?

EDIT: Ghosting fixed- yey! I hadn't adjusted the phase, because it looked alright in the menu, but on closer inspection it was causing problems.

COM: 118
Phase: 7 (was 0)
(In the D+M menu)

But iirc each persons LCD is slightly different, so these settings will probably be wrong for anyone else.

Thanks for your reply. Finally had the chance to make the changes in between flashing Poky and restoring my trusty pdaXrom NAND backup from the D+M menu.

My settings are now:
COM: 118 (was 125)
Phase: 0 (unchanged)
