Is there an X11 rom for the sl-5500.

Yes, sort of.

First of all, I have to say that I think you are making a mistake in even looking.  X11 just wasn\'t made for qvga screens. Vritualy all X11 programs are of course designed for the desktop, that means that few if any of them are usefull at resolutions of less that 640x480 which has been possible since DOS days and before.  Hell, the first home TV ever sold had 480 lines.  1/4 of that is a joke.

If you still insist on going this route, what you want is called Debian for Zaurus.  I don\'t know much about it except that you install it on a memory card and dual boot with something like OZ.  I tried it once and beyond the \"proof of concept,\" sucks big time as would any implementation of X11 on the 5500.  It just doesn\'t have the screen or cpu to do it well.

If you want X11, you should realy look at getting an sl-c760 or sl-c860 and using cacko\'s pdaXrom.  I can\'t express how bad-ass it is.  It\'s deeply cool.  They also had the good sense to put together a proper development kit to help install other softwrae from source.
