Pdaxii3 Problem
« on: August 27, 2007, 06:32:38 pm »
hi.I've installed pdaxii3 5.4.9 full version on a c3200.when I suspend it and resume it , the keyboard doesn't function.often the screen freezes and I' ve to reset c3200.I have the same problem even if I install an older version of pdaxii13.the microdive is formatted and the nand is recovered by the trisoft backup ( because I thought  that was the nand corrupted ,but I have mistaken)
anyone knows how to fix those problems?
Thank you and sorry for my bad English ,

Hmm. Is your clock set correctly?

I find that matchbox stops responding to the keyboard or screen taps (but the pointer still moves) if the date is changed significantly; there's a script in /etc/apm/resume.d which restarts matchbox on resume if the date has changed too much. So I only change the date on my Z after quitting X.

There are also scripts in /etc/apm which save and restore the system clock to the hardware clock. But I had trouble a while back getting the hw and sys clocks synchronised; after resume the date would go way off - this was eventually fixed by doing "hwclock --utc --systohc" after setting the date.

I just looked at the restore date and restart matchbox scripts... on my system they're both configured to execute at the same time! I think if you've got a time synch problem and your apm scripts fire off in the wrong order you could get exactly the problem you're seeing.

I've had this problem with pdaxrom and meanies version, when I try the hwclock I get an error like the following:
Cannot access the Hardware Clock via any known method.

This problem is the only thing keeping me from stickign with meanies version of pdaxrom

I haven't tried Meanie's Pdaxii3 yet - but with Beta3 the above happens when you have installed atd and have it running. The fix is to stop atd, update your clock then restart atd, further info can be found by searching this forum.

Try /sbin/hwclock and make sure you try it outside of X. Your best bet would be to restart the Z and then get out of X if it automatically starts (I'm unfamiliar with pdaXii13's startup). Then try changing the date using "date 082923582007" for right now (August 29, 11:58 pm in the year 2007). Then type "/sbin/hwclock --systohc --utc". Then if that still doesn't work it may be a problem with pdaXii13 (I know this problem does not exist on beta 3). If it doesn't work then post here again and I'm sure Meanie or someone else can help you.

[edit]It looks like desertrat beat me to the punch with much better advice. Basically ignore this post...[/edit]
