Fellowes Stowaway Usb Keyboard
« on: December 12, 2007, 12:09:56 pm »
Has anyone gotten a Fellowes Stowaway USB keyboard to work in pdaXrom?  When I plug it in, some of the keys work,
but the unit seems to have the numlock on, so the "internal" numeric keypad is active.  pressing the numlock key doesn't do anything.

thanks,
Christopher.

I've had the same problem with mine.  If I put it on my PC and turn off the numlock and Capslock I do not have an issue, but I still have not messed with keymaps, which appear to be pretty messed up.

So you just can't turn off numlock when using it with the Z? That's odd.

The keymapping is bound to be off anyway, however, as the Zaurus has a non-standard keyboard/mapping.

I think it just needs a powered USB host to turn off.  That is my theory on it anyway haven't tried with a powered hub attached to the Z.  I haven't done much testing with it, but from what I have done that is what appears to be going on.

I have a Targus branded Stowaway keyboard I got from some Asian seller on ebay. The packaging was generic, but the keyboard looks genuine. Not sure how close this is to a Fellows-branded one.

Last I remember, under pdaXii3, all the keys worked except the pipe/backslash key -- in fact that key wasn't even recognized using xev. The keyboard worked fine when plugged into a windows box, and all the keys were recognized when plugged into an ubuntu laptop (although there were key repeat issues in my quick look).
