Letux - It's Gpl, So Share!
« on: June 05, 2008, 02:46:00 pm »
Hi, I bought an used Acer N35 (really really cheap, it was) and I would try the Letux.org distribution. They do not allow download from their site, but they claim it is all GPL:

"The source is open to all those who purchased a preinstalled SD card according to the rules of the GPL."

So, also, "according to the rules of the GPL", anyone who bought the SD card can upload it and share for free, am I right?

*Edit: "upload it" -> I mean "upload a tarball"

*Edit 2: I mean the contents of Letux SD card for Acer n30

Anyone?

Some comments:

1. Letux is not more than Angstrom + GPE + tweaking the config
2. the relevant N30-patches have been merged into Angstrom http://www.letux.org/wiki/index.php?title=Announce_20070312
3. sources are hosted at http://www.linuxtogo.org/~koen/index.php?path=letux%2Fn30/
4. unfortunately, the original sources don't compile due to unknown changes in the infrastructure
5. Letux does not properly boot on the n35 - just on the n30
