I flashed the multiboot kernel as on Omegamoon's blog. I had created a tarball of my Sharp ROM filesystem and I used the Zubuntu filesystem as well. I parttioned a 2GB SD card for those two ROMs. The Zaurus boots and I get the splash screen where I can choose the ROM. Zubuntu boots, with a few issues, some of which have been resolved in other threads, that's fine. But the Sharp ROM doesn't and that's a big problem for me. There is no boot option from internal flash, just the two options from the card.
When trying to boot the Sharp ROM, it finds the kernel and starts the boot, but then it complains that there is no inittab file and it can't open /etc/ioctl.save. (I checked and the files are there in the filesystem). Then it asks for a runlevel. I've tried all possibilities 1-6 and always get the sane error about no /etc/ioctl.save and "no more processes left in this runlevel" and it hangs there.
I also tried to recover my Zaurus. I can't get to the D-M menu and so I cannot do a NAND restore. I tried reflashing and it appeared to do so, but then it got back to the multiboot kernel.
Any suggestion to get the Sharp ROM back is appreciated.
Thanks.
edit: got to D+M menu after a few more tries and I'm doing a NAND restore, but won't try zubuntu again before getting more guidance.
