What is qpe-base?
« on: March 24, 2004, 04:20:17 pm »
Quite a few packages in the feed rely on qpe-base, but where is it?

If I install one of those qpe-xyz packages it fails because qpe-base isn\'t found. (Cacko 1.20 ROM)

I\'d guess that you do actually have the stuff in qpe-base, even if it\'s not actually called that (otherwise Qtopia wouldn\'t work afaik).

Try using --force-depends

I seem to have the same problem. Still, if I use --force, there are no errors on dependencies, but many packages will not install - work right that is.
Opera for instance will put an icon on the taskbar but disapears imediatly afterwards and no Opera...
Where can I find the qpe-base-x.x.x on the zaurus or how to make sure it is installed?

Which 'rom' are you running sloot?

If it's OZ, this may be because you need to run the compat libs on the binary,

Where is the best place to download compat libs? Do you have to get it from the feed or you can you simply download it to a desktop drive and use scp from there?

They are in the feed - you can download things manually from a feed though if you want as it's just a directory of files available via http (plus a Packages file to list what's in there of course).
