Prboom/SDL question

I was just playing around with prboom & doomdemo from the pdaXrom feed, I installed them and the various SDL libs (no idea where from), but I only get a small screen in the middle (probably 240 pixels wide at a guess - the kind of thing that could be displayed on a 5500).

I assume this is a problem with my version of SDL. Is this the case? If so where do I get a decent version for my C machine?

I think there is a different version of SDL.

I got doom running full screen in landscape mode on my C860.
I followed these instructions:

Ah, I tried the file which is refered to but it complains about missing symbols which makes me think this may be for the Qtopia ROMs. Did you get it working with pdaXrom?

I have installed sdl_1.2.6_armv5tel.ipk which I presume is designed for pdaXrom (due to the peculiar naming convention) and it only does a small screen.

I installed http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/zports/...rm.ipk?download and it complains.

I\'ll try http://wiki.self-core.org/atty/?c=plugin;p...0031201_arm.ipk and report back.

Right that one doesn\'t work either - so neither of the ones recommened in the link from markb seem to work (on pdaXrom at least).

It has the (what at least looks like the) same complaint (handtyped I\'m afraid):

prboom: relocation error: /usr/lib/libSDL-1.2.so.0: undefinied symbol: cmd__12QPaintDeviceiP8QPainterP13QPDevCmdParm

I only tried it with my standard sharp ROM.

Delete all your SDL libs and reinstall them from the original feed. Prboom will work in a fullscreen mode if you edit a file prboom.cfg in /home/root/prboom and set parameters screen_width and screen_height to 640 and 400 respectively (you can set the latter to 480 as well, but it will be slower and proportions will be distorted a bit). And make sure that use_fullscreen parameter is set to 1, or else it will run in a window.

Yep I found that out last night - I reinstalled the original sdl package and started prboom and wonder of wonders it started in a window, not full screen but bigger. I took a peek at the output of \'ps\', then tried starting it again and it went back to being little (but in a window). I couldn\'t remember the command line switches which it had previously but I\'d guess that they are screen_width, etc.

I\'d guess that you unchecked \"Display with magnified screen\" on the desktop icon...  if you check it off it should display full screen (320x240) again...

They\'re talking about running it fullscreen under pdaXrom, not Qtopia.
