OZ 3.3.5 + USB connection and Itellisync wont work

Hello,
 
I am a newbie BUT I truly have done everything I can with the FAQ\'s and forums over the last 3 days to try and resolve my problem. I am truly at wits end here.
 
I have 2 issues that are related.
1. I keep getting USB Device not Recognized
2. I cannot get Intellisync or file transfer to work.(even when USB device is recognized and zaurus driver is installed)
 
 
First, I have a Zaurus 5600 with OZ 3.3.5 that I downloaded from here:

Thing is, after installing the ROM i noticed in system info it says 3.3.6-pre
 
I then followed instructions in the forums to uninstall the hotplug ipk USB module and replace it with a stable version from OZ 3.2
 
I grabbed this file

using the OPI packages app on the Zaurus I uninstalled the original module then installed the new hotplug (hotplug_2002_08_26-8)from a SD card to root.
 
If I do a hard reset by removing the battery cover and hitting the reset button, my Windows XP box will recognize the Zaurus through the USB cable and install the drivers automatically after the Zaurus boots. This will work for a few minutes. Then once i turn the Zaurus off then on again later on my computer will not recognize the Zaurus and keeps saying USB Device Not Recognized.
I then have to hard reset to get the zaurus to be recognized.
 
I\'ve tried moving the USB cable around and unplugging all other USB cables. When I was running Sharp ROM everything worked fine, including synching of contacts, to do\'s, emails, file transfer, etc. on my XP machine and on a win2000 machine so I know that sync’ing works...
 
When my Computer does manage to recognize my Zaurus I can\'t get it to synch.
I am trying to sync using Intellisync over USB/IO .

For clarity, on my Zaurus w/OZ 3.3.5 under security i have selected Intellisync on the Sync tab and I have tried sync\'ing with \"Accept sync from network\" set to everything from \"any\" to \"192.168.129.0/24\" .  Under the network settings on the Z I have configured the (usbd0) with an IP address of 192.168.129.201 w/ subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 . This IP address matches the IP Address listed and grayed out when I right click on the Zaurus manager on my XP box. I even tried it by setting the Zaurus IP address to 192.168.129.202 (different from Zaurus manager on XP box) but still doesn’t work.
 
My home network uses private addressing, 192.168.1.0 with a 255.255.255.0 subnet mask.

Can anyone point me to a good “how to”, email thread, forum thread or provide some helpful direction for me to continue troubleshooting this?

Entering the following at the console worked for me when I had a similar problem to yours with my SL5500:

Thanks for your suggestion, TheCrook, but it didn\'t help.  I went back and installed the Zaurus ROM and everything works great. I can file transfer and synch, without an issue. I then went back to OPenZaurus 3.3.5 but found I had the same problem. If I reset the zaurus while it\'s connected to the computer via USB my XP and W2K box will recognize it, however. Even with the IP settings set as described in numerous FAQ\'s and Forums, I still can\'t communicate between the Zaurus and Computer. Then once I turn the Zaurus off and back on again my computer will not recognize the device. Just comes up, \"USB Device Not Recognized\" My computer wont recognize it again until I do a Zaurus hard reset. This is really frustraiting. I\'ve tried the stable and experimental hotplug packages but none of them work. There seems to be something wrong with negotiation between the Zaurus and Computer after the Zaurus is booted.

Hmm - Correct me if I\'m wrong but, it looks like you and I are fighting the exact same problem.  See my post in this forum as

When booting my zaurus from the cradle and connected to my XP Pro box via SUB , I see the following error message come up and repeat itself endlessly

Netproto_receive Not up net_dev-flags 1002

Could this have anything to do with my problem with not being able to establish any sort of connectivity between my Zaurus and XP Pro Box via USB connection, whether its IO or TCP/IP ?
