Has anyone successfully implemented reliable synchronization between the OZ 3.3.6-pre1 PIM applications and Palm Desktop on an SL-5600 (pxa255) with Intellisync over the USB-TCP/IP connection? Overall I am extremely excited about the 3.3.6-pre1 ROM. In my opinion this is a vast improvement over the Sharp 1.32 ROM and I would love to continue using it if I could only manage to get the PIM applications to synchronize.
There was no problem with Palm Desktop to Sharp ROM sync so the base components are all OK. With the 3.3.6-pre1 ROM installed Intellisync is unable to establish a connection to the SL-5600. Following the suggestions in other forum threads I have uninstalled the hotplug package and reinstalled the 3.2 version, ipkg status now reports hotplug 2002_08_26-8 as OK installed. If the SL-5600 is rebooted on the cradle the Windows system will recognize the Sharp, install the virtual network adapter (USB) and connect. A ping in either direction is successful and Windows correctly recognizes the 5600 as a hotplug device. Intellisync correctly starts but fails to connect complaining that the connection needs to be reset. Naturally, if the 5600 is disconnected the virtual Windows adapter goes away and another reboot of the 5600 is required to start the cycle over again.
The configuration has been done with the suggested 192 net defaults and also attempted with 10.x net addressing with the same results. Communication is established, ping works but alas no Intellisync. The results are also the same on both a Windows XP and a Windows 2000 system. Yes, the security app on the Sharp is set for Intellisync and to accept requests from 192.168.129.0/24. Also tried the command line change of:
mkdir /home/root/systeminfo && echo \"1.13\" ]/home/root/systeminfo/linkver
If any one can suggest a work around, an application other than Intellisync or even a different device driver on either side it would be greatly appreciated. I hate the idea of having to flash back to the Sharp 1.32 ROM but, it may be my only alternative.
Thanks for your help!
