is there a c compiler that i can d/l?
« on: April 09, 2004, 08:14:06 pm »
i\'m giving it a go at compiling my first program.  i want to have nano, as vi is a bit on the arcane side for my tastes...

however the ./config says that there was no acceptable c compiler found in $PATH.

i installed libfltk, thinking that it sounded like a compiler, is it just out of the $PATH?  (anf if so, how can i add it?)

Philo,

What are you trying to do?  If you want to build apps for the Z, you should look at using a cross compiler
or the gentoo option.  Check out the SDK documentation:
http://www.pdaxrom.org/index.php?showid=30&menuid=8
If you don\'t have a linux box, then you may be able to do something with the gentoo option if you can
find an nfs server for windows.

Good luck.

As of yet there is no on-board compiler, it seems a bit weak having my Z as an X workstation and no tools to do any work with, I\'ve just had to go back to qtopia. Im sure someone has managed to do it, they just ain\'t sharing :-(
Left Linux and Linux PDAs... sorry, got boring.  Switched to Mac.

Has some info, there is an image which MAY work, I can\'t test it yet until I get some other pdaXrom issues sorted.

i don\'t have a linux enviornment handy to do the cross compile, i just wanted to compile nano, the pico replacement.  i\'m back to the qtopia based rom for the moment anyhow, since i don\'t have any calendar synch options for the pdaxrom yet.  i\'m hoping that i\'ll be able to figure out something, perhaps webcal and ical synching that would work, but untill i can, i need to have calendar synching.  i\'ll mess around with pdaxrom once i\'m free of outlook

thanks for the tips,

Understood.  If you msg me your email, I can send you nano.
I\'ve sent the ipk to sash.  Eventually, I\'m guessing it will be available
on the main site.

Actually, kopi(Korganizer/embed) is a great calendar program for the Xrom.
Sync works with my Korganizer, I don\'t know if it is possible to sync to
outlook.

But, I think right now, the pdaXrom is best for those familiar with linux
and X.  It really shows the power of the Z... not just simple pim apps
and games.  Just my 2cents.

can kopi synch to anything that is windows compatible?  i\'d prefer to be running pdaxrom on my z, but it\'s not as mature as i need it to be right now.  i much prefer using firefox to opera, even if it\'s slower.  and if i do get access to a cross compiler, i\'d love to get thunderbird ported over.

Philo,

KO/Pi can export vcal format, but not sync with windows apps.  You could always run Korganizer on windows!
