Sharp ROM for U.S. only?

Sharp ROM for U.S. only?
I see the update v3 for SL-5500 on Sharp\'s site states that it is for the U.S. only.
My Zaurus was made in Japan. I have ROM version 2.39 and Linux Kernel version 2.4.6-rmk 1-np2-embedix.
I want to upgrade my ROM to v3 but am worried I might damage it if I try to use the one on Sharp\'s site.
I use a Mac but haven\'t set up any Sync with the cradle.
Will I be able to use Sharp\'s upgrade that says it\'s for the U.S. only.

I have the UK version and i installed v3 ROM fine..then got bored with it and installed tkc 2.0 alpha 3

If your zaurus is an SL-5500 and the fonts are currently English afaik there should be no problem. You say your rom version is 2.39 but I\'m not familiar with that. Are you sure it\'s not v2.37 or v2.38? If it is v2.37 or 2.38 it will be compatible.

I was using the 2.39 rom for a while (It is the last ROM that sharp UK made available,

I have just stumbled across an ad on Ebay that states
\"The Linux version is the latest one by Sharp (v 2.39)\"

I guess they never released it as a download - ne1 fancy making a initrd/Zimage of it ?
