Stylus?

Just realized that with all the talk about the Gemini and its hardware design, I don't recall hearing about a stylus for it.

Know there's all the keyboard shortcuts, but there's no mouse buttons or trackpoint or optical mouse, etc.....

Just use finger for mouse/screen navigation I guess, if you don't have a little mouse with you.....

Anyone else thinking about this?

As a Zaurus user, I'd find a detachable stylus on my Gemini to be useful in some occasions.

Think other reason for thinking about this is fact that the name of the product is Gemini PDA, not Gemini.

And when I think back to the good old PDA days, they had styluses....

This is certainly not a dealbreaker or big deal, all in all, but interesting when you think about it...perhaps...

Who knows, maybe it will be in the Gemini PDA 2.....

I guess my thoughts are that since this is a capaciitive screen and does not have any built in technology for stylus input such as Walcom  or N-TRIG, we would have to rely on the "ipad" style versions.   I have a few that are battery operated and have a fine point and work well on many capacitive screens (windows and android both).

PS.  If I'm not mistaken, we 'know' each other from some other mobile device forums (Pocketables or ? ) a few years back...even did some device transactions as I recall.... in any event, good to see you here..

I'll be on the lookout for some stylus solution.

It would be especially useful on the Linux side. Even if a desktop is installed that's optimised for small screens and large fingers, there'll be some legacy applications that won't play nicely. I'd also like to do some occasional graphics work on the machine, both in Linux and Android.

I think what would work best for the Gemini is some kind of combined stylus and case, as the Gemini itself doesn't have a secure place to store the stylus.

There is another way around this.

A stylus assumes that the input is direct and 1:1 with the display.  The cursor jumps to where the screen is touched.

Under Linux, I want to use the touchscreen as a touchpad.  I.e. a Wacom style mouse device to move an onscreen cursor.
