More fragmentation....

Think we need to get Planet Computer to add OESF forum link to their support page to direct more traffic here.

They only list XDA, which has hardly any posts about Gemini on it....

I just emailed Planet Computer to request they add a note and link to this site.

We shall see if they do it...

Here's the response I got from Planet Computers:

Hi,

Thanks for your email. We are happy to hear you're enjoying your shiny new Gemini. While we encourage and appreciate communities like OESF, at this point we are unable to link OESF due to the volume of other similar forums.

Feel free to get back to us if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Erkan

Not what I was expecting......

Oh well..............

Thanks for reaching them out, ArchiMark.

Pity that they have not added us on their page; to be fair, they have mentioned the XDA forum there as a news item when it has been opened, while the Gemini forums here are already old news. Planet has also already acknowledged us on Twitter (thanks to speculatrix), and they sometimes mention our threads on Indiegogo. IMHO it would be nice that they would list all the third-party forums and resources (including us) in a dedicated page, but maybe they're already planning to do this.

Thanks anyway for all the support guys, it's much appreciated! As for the community fragmentation, that's indeed a pity but as I already mentioned in the past, it's unavoidable, let the users choose what suit them better. I'll anyway try my best to serve our community, and share as much info as possible about our beloved devices.

P.S. it seems that they have hired a new employee at Planet for PR, which is a good thing, I had always the feeling they are understaffed for the amount of work they have to do.

That's weird..   There IS a link to OESF   Granted it is under More -> Forums (and not More ->Links); also not at the Support page...

key for me about OESF is that there are no adverts, so although there's no mobile friendly theme the website loads and renders quickly on my phone.

plus, there's loads of people here who've got a lot of experience running linux on mobile devices without the skin of android or maemo.
